Volunteer Travel&Philanthropic Travel – this is one of our fastest growing initiatives that will help us develop projects that honour sustainable development of the communities that we choose to work with. We believe travel has a great power to make positive change to the lives of BOTH the traveller and the people/places met or visited. As Anste Tours & Travel Limited, through ANSTE Travel Foundation, we plan to keep spearheading this initiative and step up awareness among the people in this region and in particular, Kenya. We think it is a good culture to keeping promoting volunteer work in this region where we have surplus labour – especially among the youth, middle aged and the retirees – though the majority could be the youth and the retirees.
This is in line with African culture of assisting each other and the community, at large. In deed, we also continue to aim to promote Volunteer Travel in Africa and abroad, especially, in the U.K, Europe, USA, China, Japan and Asia . We are linking our company (through this website) with Universities, Other Colleges, Social Groups, Willing Individuals and Religious Groups etc with deserving/developing sustainable community groups. We bring out such deserving groups/communities/Individuals in the limelight through our company as part of our contribution and business. We are out to make such developing/deserving cases visible. We would like to see Kenya and in deed, Africa being the most desired destination for Volunteers from all over the world and more importantly, we would also like to see Volunteer Travel yielding much more than it has.
Volunteers at Work In this regard, our vision is to link up both potential travellers(&/or their Sponsors) with deserving/developing African destinations, in particular Kenya, Horn of Africa and in deed, entire Africa, at large by way of endeavouring to provide positive economic, social and environmental impact on the quality of lives of the people and environment through our travel care. For this vision to be realised, we believe, in most cases, we encourage Volunteers to stay on for relatively longer periods and be constantly conscious of quality of their contributions/productivity. . The Volunteer Opportunities existing in Africa include: • Heritage sites preservations • Rebuilding disaster stricken areas • Professional direct assistance – e.g. Medical support; Teaching New Skills/Languages etc • Ecological clean ups • Administrative Support, among many others Philanthropic Travels(2) Philanthropic Travels – In its simplest form, philanthropic travel is giving (by travellers) their Resources; including their Time, Talent and Treasure where treasure does not have to be money – it can take form of equipment like old Computers and skills i.e. – in kind or materialistically. This is usually a response to needs of the African Country/City they visit, if “touched” by the situation/circumstance at hand. We wish to keep encouraging such efforts by bringing out the awareness on both ends.
Such awareness would set our communities to prepare and start off with sustainable projects even when no help is in the horizon. By so doing, the deserving communities and individuals are likely to better their economic and social status. No contribution is too small – every positive effort by each one of us makes a difference!!! Our combined efforts builds positively on the welfare of Communities and this endeavour gives a “feel good effect” to those offering their assistance including their sponsors, if any. Anste Travel Foundation will continue identifying rewarding travel opportunities for those willing to make a difference in Africa and in Kenya, in particular, that need your help.
Regular Update/Quality Assurance Reports
It is our Company policy to offer balanced regular update/quality assurance reports, if specifically requested to, on the progress of the projects that you support. The reports include beneficiaries’ comments on what the service/gift has done to them. These reports are supported with photos/videos as far as is possible. Where we are required to support such reports with records for accountability, this is also maintained and provided.
